Matthew Hambro

Hi. My name is Matt and I'm a Ph.D. student in German Literature at UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University. I was born in New York, but grew up in Minnesota. After graduating with a B.A. in German Literature from Lewis & Clark College in 2010, I spent the next two years teaching English in Austria. Then I began studying in the Carolina-Duke German program where I have taught German, published on topics ranging from moral belief to comics, and provided design and publicity work for department events. I'm currently working on my dissertation, which traces unique features in German-language graphic narratives from the Early Modern to today. In the fall of 2016 I will be teaching a course at Duke University on German comics and graphic novels.
